CRAZED PHOTOGRAPHY FREAK!!

Okay, haven't posted in about a year. What can I say? I've been busy, what with having a job and being in London and generally travelling the globe.

But I'm getting back into the swing of things. I'm in the middle of picking out my prints for an interview at CIT. Apparently the course is really competitive and I am FREAKING OUT! Not only because I am afraid that my marks in photography at college weren't good enough, but also because I am beginning to doubt my all-round artistic ability.

Trying to stay positive so that I go into the interview happy, enthusiastic and inspired. Hopefully that nagging feeling that is making me nitpick every photo if I have ever taken will go away. Until then, I will continue to feel like I am completely SCREWED!

*breathes*

God I need a drink!

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the faves and stuff recently, I'm really enjoying your current work :)

Don't freak out about CIT photography, just make sure you present a good solid folio and you'll be fine. Its about your work, in the end, and showing them that you're passionate about photgraphy, not what some college teacher thinks of your work..

Heck, I didn't even do photography in college and I got in..

Thanks man! It's nice to hear that from someone who is actually in the course. From what I heard (from my mother who has been dealing with my Uni Applications while I've been away) the course is very Competitive and that they only pick like half the people that apply. Is that just bullshit to cull the herd, or is it true? That's what has got me so freaked out.

I've been meaning to ask... What are the streaks in the sky in that Potato Point Picture you took?

Sure, its a bit competitive, but its not that bad. And honestly, some of the work I saw last year from my year (when we were beginners) and this year's first year, was pretty average. I think what they're really looking for is a passion to develop and learn, rather than just people who say "heres my work, let me in please". Obviously technical skill helps, but its just part of the picture. If you can be open, positive, interested and so on, and if you can prepare yourself for questions such as 'where do you see yourself after you've finished the course' then you should be fine :)

As for the potato point picture, it was a super long exposure, so those streaks are stars, and the landscape is lit by the moon, which was behind me :)
